Labradorite: The Stone of Transformation and Magic
The Legend of the Northern Lights
In Inuit legend, it is said that a brave warrior once struck the rocks of the Labrador coast with his spear, releasing the Aurora Borealis (the Northern Lights) into the sky. The light that remained trapped in the stone became Labradorite. When you look at an Opaze Labradorite piece, you are literally looking at "captured light."
The Power of the "Shield"
Labradorite is often called the "Magician's Stone." It is a highly protective stone that creates a shielding effect throughout the aura.
-
Banishing Fears: It helps to banish insecurities and fears while strengthening faith in oneself.
-
Stimulating Imagination: If you feel stuck in a creative rut, Labradorite is your best friend. It calms an overactive mind but energizes the imagination, sparking new ideas.
-
Transformation: It is the perfect companion for periods of change, giving you the strength and perseverance to move through the "darkness" into the light.
Craftsmanship & Care
Labradorite is a "dark" stone until the light hits it at the right angle (a phenomenon called Labradorescence). Because of this, we design our pieces to be kinetic—stones that move with you, catching the light as you walk. To keep your Labradorite "flashing," clean it with a soft cloth and lukewarm water, avoiding ultrasonic cleaners which can damage the internal layers.
