AKAIA, a name rooted in the concept of divine feminine energy, takes on an extraordinary depth in this version. AAA-grade tanzanite cube beads at 4.5 mm carry the stone's signature shifting blue-violet along the strand, while a hand-cut iolite octagonal pendant at 13 mm anchors the composition with a deep, pleochroic indigo that changes with every angle of light. Two stones that both shift in colour as you move, both rare, both expressing the blue-violet spectrum from different geological origins. At 44 cm with a 4 cm extension, it is a necklace that reveals itself differently throughout the day.

Tanzanite and Iolite: Two Rare Blues

Tanzanite is found only near Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and is geologically rarer than diamonds, its blue-violet shifting between purple, indigo, and deep blue depending on the light. Iolite, used by Viking navigators as a polarising lens to locate the sun on overcast days, displays a pleochroism unique in its clarity: deep indigo from one angle, pale grey-blue from another. The hand-cut iolite pendant at 13 mm allows all three of its colour faces to be visible as the pendant moves, making this a necklace that is genuinely never the same twice.
