YARA is a figure from Amazonian mythology, called the Lady of the Waters, a guardian spirit whose beauty and power were said to be irresistible. This necklace carries that name through a pairing of two stones that both evoke water in different ways. AAA lapis lazuli rondelles at 3 mm and AAA moonstone rondelles at 3 mm alternate along the strand with gold-plated brass accents, the deep celestial blue of the lapis and the pale, shifting luminosity of the moonstone creating a rhythm of depth and light that changes as the necklace moves. At 38 cm with a 4 cm extension, it sits at the collarbone in a position that lets both stones be fully visible.

Lapis lazuli is one of the oldest gemstones in continuous human use, mined in the Badakhshan province of Afghanistan for over six thousand years and traded throughout the ancient world from Egypt to Rome. Moonstone is a feldspar mineral found in Sri Lanka, India, and Madagascar, and its characteristic adularescence, a soft blue-white glow that floats beneath the stone's surface, has made it a symbol of feminine intuition and the cyclical nature of growth and renewal for millennia. Together, these two stones create a necklace that holds both the grounded depth of the earth and the ethereal quality of reflected light, a combination that is more than the sum of its parts.
