About Chrysoprase
Chrysoprase is found in significant deposits in Australia, Tanzania, and Brazil, and its vivid green colouring is produced entirely naturally by trace amounts of nickel. Unlike many green stones, it requires no heat treatment and no enhancement to achieve its characteristic colour. The stone has been prized since ancient Greece and was carried by Alexander the Great as a talisman during his campaigns. The octagonal pendant in this earring is hand-cut by artisans, creating a geometric form that reflects light cleanly and allows the stone's colour to read at its most saturated.
