Moonstone and Ruby: Intuition and Passion

Moonstone is a feldspar mineral found in Sri Lanka, India, and Madagascar, and its adularescence, the soft blue-white glow that floats beneath the stone's surface, is created by the interaction of light with alternating layers of two different feldspar minerals within its structure. It has been associated with feminine intuition, the cycles of the moon, and the practice of trusting inner knowledge across cultures for thousands of years. Ruby, one of the four traditional precious gemstones, is found most finely in the Mogok Valley of Myanmar and in Mozambique, and its deep red is produced by trace chromium within the corundum crystal structure. It has been a symbol of passion, protection, and vital life force in every civilisation that has known it. Together, these two stones hold the full spectrum of human experience: the soft, intuitive inner world and the passionate, courageous outer one.
